This semi-abstract landscape painting of sunrise over a lake instills a calmness and the desire to wake up early with the sun. There is an axial symmetry present within the painting that gives it a sense of balance. The break in the horizon on the far right of the painting adds new interest and allows the eye to wander from the water to the trees to the clouds. I have always loved sunrises and sunsets, and I find it refreshing and calming to paint them, as I hope the viewer does too upon looking at them. ~ Anaïs
