Spring Meadow - Abstract Landscape Painting on Masonite Board
Spring Meadow
Original abstract landscape painting of a wild meadow in Spring! The inspiration for this piece was a meadow of colourful flowers and grass, and a natural movement that I sought to capture. The best way to create movement is to emphasize big strokes and overlap them in different directions. I have for the most part used brushes over any other painting tool, yet when I went to pick up my brush, the palette knife sitting on the table amidst the other brushes called to me. I decided to follow my instinct and try out a new style and I am very pleased I did. This painting not only captures the movement and the colours of a meadow, but expresses a sort of peaceful longing.
